I could easily say almost every verse of the Bible is my favorite — how could it not be?! The Bible is God’s Word. It is full of truth, without any mixture of error. Recently I have been working on creating digital prints and phone wallpapers with Bible verses on them, and it’s made me realize which Bible verses I could consider to be my favorites…

1. Let all that you do be done in love. 1 Corinthians 16:14

Love. It’s what we are called to do. We are called to love God with all our heart. We are called to love our neighbors as ourselves. I thank God for the way He loves me and I pray everyday to be able to love others with a Christ-like heart.

2. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

I struggle with trusting God sometimes and the plan He has for my life. But this verse reminds me that His plan is always going to be greater than my own. He has plans for each of us; we just have to trust in that plan for the betterment of our lives.

3. To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1

Patience. I am a very impatient person. I want things done ASAP; it’s not easy for me to wait. But there is hope in waiting. God has a time for everything and we are going to be in different seasons of life than other people. Not everyone’s path is the same.

4. When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. Isaiah 43:2

God is with us everywhere we go. There is not a time on this earth that He is not by my side, watching and guiding me. Any obstacle we face, He is our light and our guide through it all. He is the calm amidst the storm.

5. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:3

Have a childlike heart. Children are not fully aware of the evil in the world, so they tend to have a heart that follows love and is willing. We must have a heart for Christ and Christ alone. We cannot love things that are not of Him.

6. The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the word of God will stand forever. Isaiah 40:8

We are not on this earth forever. Nobody is. Days are going to come and go. Bad times are going to happen. But He will never leave your side through it all. The word of God is a sure thing; it never fades or withers with the world.

7. God is within her, she will not fail. Psalm 46:5

A simple yet powerful verse. As long as I trust in God, I know everything is going to be okay. It may not turn out the way I want, but it will turn out the way God wants. His strength and might triumphs over all things. There is nothing He cannot overcome.

8. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:24

The power of prayer is a mighty power. Why? Because our prayers are heard both when spoken and when unspoken. God doesn’t need to hear us speak them. He knows what is on our heart at all times. We just have to be able to understand the answer to our prayers when it is given because not every answer is what we expect. We must be open to those answers and know it is how He sees best fit for our lives.

9. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God — what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:1

This world is a mess. Everyday it becomes more of a mess through social media and politics. We are living in a lost world, but the will of God remains in our lives. We have to be careful what we engage in within this world, careful to not become of this world, but of Christ.

10. The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm. Exodus 14:14

In this world it is also easy to become anxious. We become anxious of who are to be, what is to come next, and how to act in the world. But the Lord is the answer to all anxiety. When we cast our anxiety upon Him, He lifts it from our hearts and gives us the answer, we just have to listen.
