My God is omnipresent. What does that mean? This means He is present EVERYWHERE!! There is no where we can go without the presence of the Spirit.
I have recently become hooked on one of Ellie Holcomb’s songs; it is title “Where Can I Go – Psalm 139.” (If you haven’t listened to it before, I suggest you stop reading this, go listen to it, and then come back to this).
Let’s read Psalm 139:
This song is all scriptural. After listening to the song, you will want to sing the Psalm when you read it. It is such an easy song to memorize, making the Psalm a familiar one to have in my heart.
Being in the current season of life I am in, I am in a constant search of where I am to be and where I am to go. I struggle trusting God sometimes. I wonder if I am going where He wants me to. But listening to the words of this song and reading the words of this Psalm, I know the Lord is with me always. There is no place for me to go without the Lord being by my side.
Not only is my God omnipresent, meaning He is everywhere that I go, but He is also omniscient, meaning He knows EVERYTHING!! This can be overwhelming for some to hear that God knows all things about them. However, we should marvel in that and stand in awe of Him. He formed every part of you and of me. He knows us personally.
This Psalm and this song gives us GOOD NEWS. No matter what we do and no matter where we go, we can never be too far from God’s guiding presence and his comfort.
I pray that you would use this Psalm for your daily prayer when you feel overwhelmed and maybe even drawn far from God. When you forget your purpose, listen to this song. Memorize it so that you can sing it and immediately feel the weight lifted off your shoulders. Feel His presence among you!
Let’s Pray!
Heavenly Father, we give You praise for Your omniscience and omnipresence. You know all about us. You are with us always. How could we ever escape You?! I pray that You would guide every part of our lives and that we would trust in Your guiding presence. Amen.
